Apprentice Jockey 

An opportunity has arisen for an apprentice jockey to join our expanding team at West Ilsley Stables. 

The successful candidate must be able to ride to a high standard, be confident riding work, putting horses through the stalls and educating young thoroughbreds. 

Previous race riding experience is desired but not essential for the right candidate.

Jack and his father Mick have a history of excellent mentorship and kick starting the careers of young jockeys.

With a growing yard, there are plenty of opportunities for race rides for the successful applicant. 

The role is to include usual racing hours with one in three weekends worked. We also offer Wednesday afternoons off, except during the week of your designated working weekend.

Excellent wages, winners bonus’ and pool money are available. Onsite accommodation can also be arranged.
