Second Head Person

Brian Meehan Racing is seeking a motivated 2nd head person to join our professional and friendly team at our yard on Manton Estate, Marlborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic individual to play a key role within the team, assisting the Head Groom and Assistant Trainer in the day-to-day running of the yard.

Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Head Groom and Assistant Trainer with the smooth running of the yard
Overseeing the yard at weekends on a rota basis
Daily checking and monitoring of horses
Feeding and general horse care
Assisting vets
Providing routine medical care and treatments
Riding

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a racing yard
Confident and capable rider
Strong horsemanship and attention to detail
Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility
Good team player with a positive attitude

Working Pattern & Benefits:

Working 1 in 3 weekends Tuesday afternoon off following a worked weekend
